แนะนำตัวเองคร่าวๆ ว่าเริ่มเปิดออฟฟิศอย่างไร
ซิ้ม สตูดิโอ (SIM Studio) ก่อตั้งขึ้นโดยคุณปานะพันธ์ แซ่ซิ้ม ซึ่งได้สั่งสมประสบการณ์การทำงานในแวดวงการออกแบบจากหลากหลายบริษัทชั้นนำทั้งในไทยและต่างประเทศ โดยเฉพาะในประเทศสิงคโปร์ ที่ได้มีโอกาสไปทำงานอยู่ระยะหนึ่ง ก่อน owner ที่เคยร่วมงานกันในอดีตจะชักชวนให้กลับประเทศไทยมาช่วยพัฒนาแบบโฮสเทลย่านพระโขนง ซึ่งผลงานชิ้นนี้นับว่าเป็นผลงานแจ้งเกิด และเป็นผลงานที่ทำให้เพื่อนกลุ่มเล็กๆ กลุ่มหนึ่งได้กลับมารวมตัวกันจนเป็น ซิ้ม สตูดิโอ (SIM Studio) ในปัจจุบัน
ความสนใจและแนวคิดการทำงานของออฟฟิศ
เราพยายามมองจากภายในสู่ภายนอก โดยให้ความสำคัญกับการวางแปลนและฟังก์ชันภายในอาคารก่อนเสมอ เราค่อนข้างเชื่อและให้ความสนใจกับการออกแบบประสบการณ์ในการใช้งานเป็นพิเศษมากกว่ารูปลักษณ์ภายนอก การออกแบบพื้นที่ให้ผู้อยู่อาศัยรู้สึกสบายและเป็นตัวของตัวเองได้ในพื้นที่นั้นๆ มากที่สุด เป็นแนวทางหลักในการทำงานของเรา

โปรเจ็คต์ที่ผ่านมาที่มีความน่าสนใจและโปรเจ็คต์ที่กำลังทำอยู่
โปรเจ็คต์โฮสเทลย่านพระโขนงชื่อ Goose Living นอกจากจะเป็นโปรเจ็คต์แรกที่ได้ออกแบบหลังจากตัดสินใจกลับมาที่ประเทศไทยและได้รวมตัวกับกลุ่มเพื่อนแล้ว ก็ยังเป็นโปรเจ็คต์ที่ทำให้หลายคนรู้จัก ซิ้ม สตูดิโอ (SIM Studio) มากขึ้นจากสื่อต่างๆ ทั้งในไทยและต่างประเทศ ทำให้เราได้รับโอกาสอื่นๆ ต่อยอดมาเรื่อยๆ
โปรเจ็คต์ที่กำลังออกแบบอยู่ตอนนี้มีตั้งแต่สเกลเล็กไปจนถึงสเกลใหญ่ เช่น โปรเจ็คต์รีโนเวทบ้าน Community mall รีสอร์ท และโครงการหมู่บ้าน ซึ่งแต่ละโปรเจ็คต์ที่เข้ามามีความสำคัญมาก ทำให้สตูดิโอใหม่อย่างเราอุ่นใจ และมีโอกาสในการเว้นระยะเวลารับงาน เพื่อศึกษาพัฒนาฝีมือในการออกแบบของเราได้มากยิ่งขึ้น

จากวันแรกจนถึงวันนี้ การทำงานของ ซิ้ม สตูดิโอ (SIM Studio) เปลี่ยนแปลงไปอย่างไร
จากฟรีแลนซ์ที่ทำงานกันในกลุ่มเพื่อนเล็กๆ พัฒนามาเป็นรูปบริษัท การทำงานในแต่ละส่วนได้ถูกเกลาอย่างเป็นระบบมากขึ้น มีการจัดการที่ดีขึ้น แต่แนวคิดตั้งต้นของเราต้องการให้สภาพแวดล้อมดูไม่ทางการจนเกินไป และยังคงต้องการให้ทุกคนในทีมได้ทำงานแสดงความคิดเห็นร่วมกันเหมือนเดิม ด้วยมุมมองความคิดในแบบคนรุ่นใหม่และจากที่แต่ละคนก็ได้เคยมีโอกาสทำงานในหลากหลายบริษัท เรามองว่าอะไรที่เราไม่ชอบหรืออยากจะให้เป็น เราจะพยายามสร้างบรรยากาศนั้นให้เกิดขึ้นในสตูดิโอของเรา

Briefly introduce yourself – how did you start running the office?
SIM Studio was founded by Mr. Panapan Sae Sim, who has accumulated experience in the design field from many leading companies both in Thailand and abroad, especially in Singapore which he had the opportunity to work for a while. Later a project owner who he had worked with before persuaded him to return to Thailand to help develop a hostel in Phra Khanong. This work is considered a kick-off, and it also creates an opportunity for a small group of friends to come together to form SIM Studio as it is now.
What are the interests and concepts behind your work?
We always look from the inside out and pay attention to the planning and functions of the building first. We believe in designing the best user experience rather than how the building looks. Creating a space that allows users to feel comfortable, feel at home, and be themselves as much as possible is considered the main idea of our work.

Interesting past projects and ongoing projects
Goose Living, a hostel in Phra Khanong, was the first project we designed after deciding to come back to Thailand and reunited with a group of friends. It is also the project that makes SIM Studio widely known thanks to various media both locally and internationally, giving us more opportunities to move forward.
Currently, we are fortunate enough to have quite a few projects coming in, ranging from small to large scales such as house renovation projects, community malls, and resorts. Each one is considered very important to us, for providing an opportunity to be able to work with more confidence and to develop our design skills even more.
From day one until now, how the studio has been operated?
We were freelancers working together in small groups before and have developed into a company, now work in each section has been done more systematically with better management. But we always want the environment of our studio to be casual and not too formal. We still want everyone in the team to work together closely and freely express opinions as usual. With a diverse perspective of members at a young age who have had the opportunity to work in a variety of companies before, we would look at what we don’t like or want to be and will try to create that atmosphere in our studio.
